There is no single or simple solution to Australia’s rubbish woes. Recycling is a nationwide effort, requiring co-operation between councils, waste management experts and individual residents. In Victoria, local councils co-operate with waste management experts like WM Waste, who in turn work with individual residents to maximise recycling efforts and reduce environmental impact.
WM Waste Management Services will launch its new fully electric collection truck at Waste Expo in Melbourne on the 3rd & 4th of October 2018. WM Waste Management Services will be at stand Q43. Michael Strickland will be speaking at 1:35pm on Thursday 4th October on Maximising the recycling and recovery of kerbside collected hard waste and dry commercial waste.
Melbourne is abundant with home improvement activity. Waste generated from construction and demolition projects across Australia accounts for almost one-third of the country’s annual waste. We’re talking figures in the mega-tonnes. Around 35% of this, or 7 million tonnes, ends up in landfills, creating space issues and polluting the environment.
You've decided to clear the clutter, but did you know that you might need a permit from the council to park a skip? WMWaste provide skip bins with permits.
By the end of next year, retailers, takeaways and small stores will be parting way with any lightweight plastic bags – in fact, it will be illegal if they provide customers with any single-use bags. The move comes after major Australian retailers such as Woolworths and Coles took it upon themselves to take plastic bags out of circulation in an attempt to protect the environment– although, Coles has recently decided to make reusable plastic bags free.
Because we are situated in Boronia, in Victoria’s South Eastern suburbs, pricing for
our services is dependent on the distance we will need to travel to drop off and collect the rubbish skips.
