WM Waste Management Services has recently travelled to the Parliament of Victoria to present information to the Parliamentary Into Recycling and Waste Management. On Tuesday the 25th of June 2019, Project Manager Michael Strickland attended Parliament to personally present information on behalf of WM Waste Management.
This is the result of a lengthy research and consultation process which recognised the hazards that arise from putting e-waste in landfill, and the opportunities that arise from recovering the valuable materials that electronic goods are manufactured with.
Skip bins are rented by volume. As you may only hire them infrequently, we appreciate that you want to load them up as much as you can. However, it is important to understand that they cannot be legally loaded above the rim, and WM will not accept bins that have been overloaded.
These restrictions aren’t made by us to make it more difficult or expensive to remove your waste, they are part of the Government’s health and safety legislation. It is illegal to transport a waste container beyond its dimensional limits and most companies (including WM) will not accept the risk of incurring heavy fines.
The first electric trucks ever operational in the Australian waste management industry introduced by WM Waste have been featured in the Waste Management Review newsletter in May 2019. The Review has published an insightful article into the operational and environmental benefits of the electric waste truck.
In a ground-breaking partnership with the City of Casey and SEA Electric, WM Waste has developed the first fully operational electric waste disposal trucks in Australia. As part of Casey City and WM’s shared ambition to minimise carbon emissions, the first of several electric trucks is now on the road and collecting hard waste in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs. WM was the first hard waste business in Australia to use hybrid waste trucks in 2008, and is reaffirming its reputation as a leader in the sustainable waste disposal industry with its electric truck program.
Because we are situated in Boronia, in Victoria’s South Eastern suburbs, pricing for
our services is dependent on the distance we will need to travel to drop off and collect the rubbish skips.
